Renowned tennis player Andrey Olkhovsky, a two-time Grand Slam mixed doubles champion, has shared his expectations regarding the performance of Russian players at the Indian Wells Masters tournament.
Olkhovsky expressed caution, stating that predicting their success is challenging due to the current instability in the Russian players’ game. He refrained from making forecasts even for reaching the third round. He emphasized that while it’s interesting to see how they perform in Indian Wells, achieving stability is the most critical factor for Russian players right now.
Highlighting this point, Olkhovsky mentioned Andrey Rublev, who, despite winning Doha, suffered a first-round defeat in his subsequent tournament. Olkhovsky believes that if Russian players can find consistency and confidence, they have the potential to progress to the later stages of the Indian Wells tournament.
