World No. 3 Carlos Alcaraz of Spain recalled the most challenging period of his career.
“The most unpleasant tennis-related incident was a right forearm injury I sustained in April 2024 on clay. This forced me to withdraw from several tournaments I was eager to compete in. Missing the home tournaments in Spain was particularly disappointing.”
“I had doubts about when I would be able to play at full strength again and whether I would regain my confidence in my shots, as this injury worried me a lot. Doctors assured me that I would be completely healthy in a couple of weeks.”
“But time passed, and my arm continued to hurt, making me doubt the timing of my return to the court. I didn’t know if I would even be able to hit forehands with the same power again. And very important tournaments were ahead of me,” Alcaraz said in an interview with The Tennis Letter.
