Former Tottenham midfielder Dennis Bond has died at the age of 77.
Tottenham Hotspur expressed their condolences, stating on social media their deep sadness upon learning of the passing of Dennis Bond at 77. The club extended their thoughts to Dennis’ friends and family during this difficult time.
A lifelong Tottenham supporter, Bond grew up in Walthamstow and began his professional career with Watford. He debuted for Watford at just 17 years old and made over 100 appearances before joining Tottenham in 1967.
During his three years at Tottenham, Dennis Bond played 27 first-team matches and scored one goal. He later moved to Charlton before finishing his playing career in non-league football.
Bond officially retired from professional football at 55, having also played for Boreham Wood, Waltham Abbey, and Potters Bar Town.
Fans shared their tributes on social media. One fan wrote about Bond being a Walthamstow local and sent thoughts to his family and friends. Another simply said, “RIP Dennis.” A third expressed sadness at the news, and a fourth wished him to rest in peace.
