Former Italian tennis player and current expert Paolo Bertolucci shared his thoughts on the future of Novak Djokovic. This comes after Djokovic, a 24-time Grand Slam champion, was defeated early in the Indian Wells Masters tournament.
Bertolucci noted, “His shots aren’t as fast as they used to be, his ball bounces shorter, and he’s making more unforced errors, especially when he’s not in peak physical condition.”
He added that opponents now approach matches against Djokovic differently. “They know they can beat him and are giving it their all.”
Bertolucci concluded, “I don’t know if Nole has finished his career, but he is no longer able to consistently show his best tennis throughout the year. It’s no secret that the French Open and especially Wimbledon will be decisive in his career.”
