World No. 13 Holger Rune shared his thoughts after defeating Stefanos Tsitsipas in the fourth round of the Indian Wells Masters with a score of 6/4, 6/4.
When asked about the most important aspect of matches against Tsitsipas, Rune stated, “I think today the return was very important: I returned a lot to his backhand and tried to take control in the rally as early as possible. I’m also happy that I stayed focused.”
Reflecting on his mental game, following his previous match, Rune elaborated, “Yes, against Humbert I fought hard for every point trying to find a solution, a way to win. I didn’t feel my best in terms of shots, but that doesn’t mean I should lose matches like that. You have to find a way to win, and I managed to do it. I’m very glad that it worked out.”
