An unusual incident occurred at the Miami Open WTA 1000 tournament when an iguana unexpectedly appeared on the court during a match.
The reptile made its appearance during the first-round match between Russian tennis player Polina Kudermetova and Romanian player Elena-Gabriela Ruse.
A woman, presumably a tournament staff member, used an umbrella to gently guide the iguana off the court, allowing play to resume.
Despite the interruption, Polina Kudermetova, the younger sister of Veronika Kudermetova, unfortunately lost the match and was eliminated from the Miami Open.
