Karen Moorhouse, CEO of the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA), has stated that the case involving world number one Jannik Sinner did not constitute a violation of the tennis anti-doping program rules.

Moorhouse explained, “Communication issues related to the Sinner case may have highlighted a misunderstanding of our rules concerning the announcement of positive tests and provisional suspensions. It was a mistake to assume we announce positive tests, when in fact we announce provisional suspensions. In both scenarios, the rules were followed.”

She added, “Our rules are based on the World Anti-Doping Code, which lists several offenses that can be committed by a player’s support personnel: doctor, coach, agent. However, most of the violations in question relate to the intention to use doping. In Sinner’s case, according to the legal advice we received, there were no grounds to pursue anyone from his entourage. There was no violation of the tennis anti-doping program rules.”
