The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have officially announced Ajinkya Rahane as their captain and Venkatesh Iyer as the vice-captain for the upcoming IPL 2025 season.
Venky Mysore, CEO of KKR, stated, “We are thrilled to have Ajinkya Rahane, who brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the team. Venkatesh Iyer, a key player for KKR, also embodies strong leadership qualities. We are confident that their partnership will be successful as we begin our title defense.”
Rahane, upon accepting the captaincy, commented, “It is a privilege to lead KKR, a highly successful franchise in the IPL. We have a well-rounded and talented squad, and I am eager to collaborate with everyone and embrace the challenge of defending our championship.”
KKR is scheduled to commence their IPL 2025 campaign on March 22 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
