French tennis player Kristina Mladenovic, winner of the 2020 Australian Open in women’s doubles, has criticized the new logo presented by the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA).
Mladenovic took to social media to express her confusion, asking, “How did you come up with this? And who approved it? Green and white? No tennis elements? What does it even represent? The previous logo was much better.”
The WTA’s new logo has become more minimalist and is executed in a bright green color. According to the organization’s press release, the new WTA style, developed with input from players, fans, and partners worldwide, aims to strengthen the organization’s influence as a leader in the sports and entertainment industry.
