Former world No. 3 Nadezhda Petrova shared her expectations for world No. 6 Russian player Daniil Medvedev‘s performance at the Masters tournament in Indian Wells.
“Medvedev can reach the quarterfinals, where it will be difficult for him. There, potentially, is the powerful Russian-speaking Australian Alexei Popyrin, whose tennis style is well-suited for fast courts: a strong serve, net approaches, volleys, and an excellent forehand. And it could also be fourth seed Casper Ruud, who should not be underestimated either,” – TASS quotes Petrova.
At the start of the tournament, Medvedev will face Bu Yunchaokete of China, who in the first round defeated American Nishesh Basavareddy with a score of 7/5, 6/4. The tournament in Indian Wells will conclude on March 16.
