Australian tennis player Nick Kyrgios, known for reaching the Wimbledon final in 2022 and winning seven ATP tournaments, has reacted with irony to the news that Italian player Matteo Berrettini, currently ranked 29th in the world, was named the “hottest” man on the ATP Tour for 2025 by listeners of the Nothing Major Show podcast, hosted by John Isner and Sam Querrey.
“And without clostebol!” Kyrgios commented.
With this remark, the Australian player alluded once again to the doping scandal involving world No. 1 Jannik Sinner. In March 2024, the Italian player had two positive tests for the steroid clostebol. This information was made public in August. Later, the tennis player was cleared by the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA), but the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), which was scheduled to be considered in April 2025. However, on February 15, WADA announced that they had reached a settlement with Sinner, under which he was suspended for three months (from February 9 to May 4), and the agency withdrew its appeal.
