Following India’s Champions Trophy success, star all-rounder Hardik Pandya discussed the BCCI’s decision not to send the team to Pakistan for the tournament. India played all their matches in Dubai, including the final against New Zealand, which they won by four wickets. After the final, Hardik addressed the question of India not traveling to Pakistan. He indicated that the decision was beyond his purview.
‘I am sure Pakistani people in Dubai enjoyed our performance. The reason we didn’t go is above my pay grade,’ Hardik stated, as reported by Times Now.
Hardik also commented on the team’s victory and his personal journey, saying, “Bowling will take care of itself. This year was full of learnings and challenges. My mindset is to face challenges head-on. If challenges are tough, I will fight back.
‘If you stay in the game, you have a chance,” Pandya added after India’s Champions Trophy win.
Pandya mentioned his consistent hard work to improve his performance. “I have always believed in my abilities. The hard work behind the scenes always pays off. Preparation reflects in the game,” he emphasized.
This victory also helped Pandya overcome the disappointment of India’s loss to Pakistan in the 2017 edition, in which he participated. “An incomplete dream is complete today. Eight years is a long time, and much has happened. But winning for India is very important to me.
“It’s my life’s principle: if I don’t perform, it’s okay, but the team’s success is paramount,” he concluded.
Hardik is set to play in the upcoming IPL season, leading Mumbai Indians again.
