Experienced Coaching Duo Takes Helm
Ramachandran Ramesh, a highly respected chess coach known for nurturing talents like Aravindh, Hairkrishna, and Praggnanandhaa, has been named the Technical Commissioner for the Italian national chess team.
The Italian Chess Federation (FSI) confirmed the appointment of the 48-year-old Indian Grandmaster on March 4th. Ramesh, who became a Grandmaster in 2003 and won the Commonwealth Championship in 2007, previously established a successful chess school in Chennai. He succeeds Loek van Wely in this role.

In another key appointment, Mihail Marin will take over as the Technical Commissioner for the Italian women’s national team, replacing Roberto Mogranzini.
Marin, a Romanian Grandmaster recognized for his extensive chess literature and video tutorials, is also fluent in Italian, English, and German. He served as Judit Polgar’s second during the 2005 World Championship and coached Daniele Vocaturo to his Grandmaster title.
