Liverpool’s star player, Mohamed Salah, is being encouraged to turn down offers from Saudi Arabian clubs. The advice comes from his former coach, who believes Salah should concentrate on solidifying his legendary status at Liverpool.
Even if Salah achieves Premier League and Champions League victories this season, his ex-coach suggests his legacy at Anfield is more valuable. At 32 years old, this season could be Salah’s last with Liverpool as his contract nears its end and negotiations for a new agreement are slow.

Liverpool faces important decisions regarding contracts for key players like Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, and Salah.
Diaa El-Sayed, Salah’s former under-20 coach in Egypt, stated that Egyptians overwhelmingly support Liverpool because of Salah and hope he finishes his career there. In an interview, El-Sayed, speaking from Cairo, mentioned knowing Salah since childhood and emphasized his integrity.
“He has enjoyed eight fantastic years at Liverpool, achieving remarkable statistics,” El-Sayed noted, highlighting Salah’s successful partnerships with teammates, managers, media, and fans.
“Naturally, I wish for him to remain at Liverpool. Everyone in Egypt hopes he extends his stay beyond this summer,” he added. “I am aware of Salah’s affection for Liverpool and the city.”
El-Sayed believes Salah would prefer to conclude his impressive football career at Liverpool. He expressed his desire to see Salah stay and not move to Saudi Arabia, PSG, or any other club. “Due to him, Liverpool has a massive following in Egypt, and we all want him to retire there,” El-Sayed concluded.
Salah currently leads the Premier League scoring chart with 25 goals in 28 matches and is third on Liverpool’s all-time top scorers list, with 131 goals in 241 appearances, trailing only Roger Hunt (152) and Ian Rush (166).
Liverpool’s manager, Arne Slot, has been cautious when discussing Salah’s future, especially amid Saudi Arabia transfer rumors.
Slot commented, “Everyone wants him, including us. We definitely want him to renew his contract.” He added, “It’s no surprise Saudi Arabia wants him, and likely other countries too. Salah is experienced and intelligent enough to make the best decision for himself and, we hope, for us as well.”
