Manchester United fans couldn’t catch a break even while watching darts, as Sky Sports commentators made a lighthearted jab at the club’s expense.
During the Premier League Darts event in Exeter, where Luke Littler aimed to continue his winning streak, a comment was made that drew attention beyond the darts world.

Littler faced Luke Humphries in the final, ultimately losing, but he had previously dominated his initial match against Stephen Bunting.
Despite not feeling his best, the young darts player achieved an impressive average score of 112.34.
Known as “The Nuke,” Littler secured a 6-3 victory, even though Bunting also played exceptionally with a 104 average.
Bunting appeared disheartened as the match progressed, particularly as Littler scored an impressive TEN 180s.
Commentator Stuart Pyke and Wayne Mardle were in the Sky Sports commentary box.
Mardle described the Premier League Darts format as constantly challenging.
Referring to the pressure Bunting was under, Pyke humorously responded, "There is no Manchester United to relieve the pressure in this Premier League."
Mardle, laughing, added, "For anyone offended by that, we’re sorry."
One fan quickly reacted on social media, saying: "Man United even catching stray jokes at the darts, they can’t catch a break."
Another fan commented with amusement: "I can’t even avoid United being mocked when I’m watching darts. We’re truly done for."
Littler, a dedicated Manchester United supporter, is a new world champion in darts.
He showcased his trophy at Old Trafford after his 7-3 victory against Michael van Gerwen at Ally Pally the previous month.
However, Manchester United’s performance over the last year contrasts sharply with Littler’s success.
Despite Ruben Amorim’s arrival in November, Manchester United remains in the lower half of the Premier League standings.
