World No. 11 Greek tennis player, Stefanos Tsitsipas, has won his first career ATP 500 tournament. He emerged victorious at the Dubai Championships in the UAE.
In the final match, Tsitsipas defeated Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime with a score of 6-3, 6-3. The head-to-head record between them now stands at 7-3 in favor of Tsitsipas.
This victory marks Tsitsipas’s first win in his 12th ATP 500 final. He had previously faced defeat in all 11 of his prior attempts. Notably, Tsitsipas had also lost in the Dubai final twice before, succumbing to Roger Federer in 2019 (4-6, 4-6) and to Novak Djokovic in 2020 (3-6, 4-6).
Following this win, Tsitsipas is projected to climb to the 9th position in the updated ATP rankings.
