It has been reported that Indian cricket team spinner Yuzvendra Chahal and his wife Dhanashree Verma have filed for divorce. Rumors of their separation circulated on social media for months before confirmation of the divorce filing emerged recently. Reports indicated that a hearing took place at the Bandra Family Court, attended by both parties. However, Dhanashree’s lawyer stated that the legal process is still ongoing.
Dhanashree’s lawyer, Aditi Mohan, released a statement saying, ‘I have no comments to make on the proceedings, as the matter is currently under judicial consideration. The media should verify facts before reporting, as much misleading information is being spread.’
Amidst these developments, Chahal shared a cryptic message on Instagram on Friday: ‘It’s Chaos, Be Kind – Michelle McNamara.’
Numerous media reports also claimed Dhanashree demanded 60 crore rupees as alimony, but her family strongly refuted this, urging the media to avoid spreading misinformation.
The family’s statement clarified: ‘We are deeply disturbed by the unfounded claims regarding the alimony figure. Let us be very clear – no such amount has been requested, demanded, or even suggested. These rumors are completely false. Publishing such unverified information is irresponsible and involves not only the individuals but also their families in unnecessary speculation. Irresponsible reporting like this is harmful, and we ask the media to show restraint, verify information before spreading misinformation, and respect everyone’s privacy.’
Chahal recently shared another social media post stating: ‘God has protected me more times than I can count. So I can only imagine the times I’ve been rescued that I don’t even know about. Thank you, God, for always being there, even when I don’t know it. Amen.’
Dhanashree also posted a message about faith on her Instagram account: ‘From stressed to blessed. Isn’t it amazing how God can turn our worries and trials into blessings? If you’re stressing about something today, know that you have a choice. You can either keep worrying or you can surrender it all to God and choose to pray about everything. There is power in having faith that God can work all things together for your good.’
